How does the Italian media view yesterday’s incidents? Bloody organiser’s vest, scuffles, maladjusted Slavs and assaulted policemen
Yesterday’s match between AS Roma and Slavia Prague had a cruel ending for the Czech club’s spectators. Hours of closure in the away sector, crazy checks and collapses due to dehydration. How does the Italian media evaluate yesterday’s visit of the Prague team?

The fact that nothing easy awaits the fans of Slavia in the Italian capital was predictable from the problems and complications that complicated their trip.
The forbidden choreo and the possible police intervention on the assumption of unauthorised assembly outside the pre-arranged places was only the beginning. The Italian police had prepared the finale in the form of an abnormally long detention of the visiting fans in the stadium.
According to a report from Jaroslav Tvrdik, the club management will respond and file an official complaint. They are now gathering all the evidence of illegal and unethical behaviour from the fans.
What does the Italian media say?
The Italian media sees the situation in a completely different way. As clear evidence of the inadaptable behaviour of the Czech supporters, they cite a photo in which several members of the stitched cauldron are seen attaching a bloody organiser’s vest to the fence. “War trophy,” the media writes.
“A day full of incidents caused by Czech fans. It is a powerful image that shows the atmosphere in the stadium,” says one Italian website, which says all the scuffles were caused by the Czechs.
As a result of the afternoon visit to the streets of Rome, three police officers were reportedly injured and attacked, leading to the arrests of four Susi fans.
“The sight of the men in uniform was just an excuse for disorder. It all started with a familiar scenario: bottles and other objects were thrown, accompanied by the detonation of heavy firecrackers thrown by the Prague fans,” the same site writes.
This incident was allegedly the pretext and reason for the Italian authorities to increase security checks and take other stricter measures.
After entering the stadium, another incident allegedly took place when Slavija fans wanted to confront the home cauldron.
They reportedly overstepped their designated area and a scuffle with the organisers ensued. It was the vest of one of them that was hanging in the visitors’ sector before it was confiscated by police officers.
