The most trophies for winning the Champions League and one of the biggest clubs on the planet. That’s Real Madrid, who have reached the semi-finals of the millionaire’s competition again this year. But it will be up against a tough opponent.
Manchester City looks much fresher, its game is more convincing and it is no surprise that it is the favourite not only for the first leg, which will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night, but also for overall promotion.
One of the reasons is Erling Haaland, sovereignly the Citizens’ top scorer and the top scorer in the Champions League or Premier League.
This season, the Norwegian has already netted 51 competitive goals and it is widely claimed that he was the last missing piece in the puzzle that will take the English side to the coveted trophy.
“Haaland is the most talked about player in our cabin. He scores a lot of goals. Nobody knows how to stop him. I hope he doesn’t score goals against us,” Rodrygo, a man who is also shining in the Champions League, admitted in an interview with RTVE.
“Manchester City are a scary team. They have a great squad, they play really well. Despite everything, we believe we can beat them and we can go further,” the Brazilian added.
Real Madrid managed to win the Spanish Cup at the weekend. Los Blancos fans will surely hope that the players’ trophy win has encouraged them enough to be able to take the favourite by surprise.
