Wisla Krakow have played their opening game in the Polish Ekstraklasa, hosting Zaglebie Lubin. The home team’s starting line-up included three Czech players, two of whom joined the club in the summer. Who are they and how did they fare?

Czech fans could see Michal Frydrych, Matej Hanousek and Jan Kliment in the line-up of Wisla Kraków. The latter two joined the team in the summer.

The coach of Wisla Krakow is the Slovak coach Adrian Gul’a, who knows these players from the Czech top league.

But apart from them, Michal Škvarka, a Slovakian who used to play for Ferencváros in Hungary, has also joined the club. How did the Czech players fare?

The match ended 3:0, Hanousek and Frydrych got a clean sheet, the former was praised by the fans of the Polish club.

Kliment scored the second goal for his team on his debut. Wisla fans, however, were captivated by another player.

That was Škvarka, who started as an offensive midfielder and notched two assists. Thus, the premiere for the coaching staff and the new reinforcements was a success.
