How did the Czechs do against the Portuguese? The stats server didn’t find many good performances
The miracle did not happen, the Czech national football team lost 0:2 on the soil of the strong Portuguese. In the UEFA Nations League we dropped to 3rd place in our group (in League A) after the defeat. Nevertheless, we can perceive the opening block of this competition positively.

In the UEFA Nations League we dropped to 3rd place in our group (in League A) after the defeat. Nevertheless, we can perceive the opening block of this competition positively. How did the prestigious WhoScored statistics server rate the Czechs in Portugal?
While the first game against Switzerland and the second game against Spain brought very positive results and also individual performances, the trip to Portugal did not please the Czech fans so much.
According to WhoScored, the Czechs even had two men of the match in the first two matches played in Eden! That was striker Jan Kuchta. After the first two games, the stats site even rated him as the third best player in Liga A!
But we didn’t shine so much against the excellent Portuguese. Of course, it could have been a bit different if we had been able to capitalize on our chances better and if the Portuguese hadn’t discovered our biggest weakness before halftime in the form of the left side.
Personally, I would have found one more if and that is if the famous CR7 had been red carded early in the second half. Then the Czech selection could still have theoretically returned to the game, but neither scenario came true and the favoured team built around Cristiano Ronaldo won relatively comfortably.
Rating by WhoScored
WhoScored chose goalkeeper Jindřich Stanek as the best figure of the Czech team, who got a decent rating of 6.89. The second highest rating was given to stopper Jakub Brabec, who was very confident throughout the game, the stats server gave him a 6.47 rating. The third best Czech on the pitch was Vladimir Coufal with a rating of 6.29 according to WhoScored.
And who didn’t have a good game according to the stats server? There were two grades below 6 in the Czech team, which were given to Tomáš Souček and Milan Havel, both of whom scored 5.86.
Michal Sadilek deserves praise as he had the most touches with the ball of the whole national team (68) and had an excellent passing success rate of 89%.
