Slavia, Plzeň and Jablonec will play key matches on Thursday. The champion of the last three league seasons is aiming for the Europa League group stage, while the other two teams would like to join the newly formed European Conference League.

Legia Warsaw made it through their league match. The opponent of the Prague-based Slavia won 2:0 against Warta Poznan. The clear-cut victory moved the Polish champions into eighth place with one match to play.

National striker Tomas Pekhart also scored a goal. The goal was a liberation for him, as he did not make many appearances in the beginning of the new season, coming only from the bench in the Champions League qualification.

It was Jablonec’s opponents who did not adjust well to the important double match. Žilina lost 1:2 in Liptovský Mikuláš, but they don’t have to regret it so much, they are third with the same number of points as the first Slovan Bratislava.

The loss of the very young Slovak team is the result of fatigue, Žilina has played eight sharp games since 22 August and lost only one of them.

CSKA Sofia has not played its league matches for the last three rounds. Presumably, it has an agreement with the league association to concentrate on the cup journey. It also makes sense from the point of view that Ludogorets, which is fighting for the Champions League, is not playing matches either.
