Will it be Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton? The last two races on the F1 calendar are coming up to decide who will win the world title. Christian Horner, the boss of Red Bull, sees it quite clearly. What did he say about Verstappen?

This year’s Formula One season is a very exciting affair indeed. In many ways, the duel between Hamilton and Verstappen reminds us of the old days when Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher fought for the title, and even earlier Mika Häkkinen.

Looking even further back, Niki Lauda and James Hunt also fought a fierce battle in 1984. We must also not forget the bitter battles between Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna.

Back to the present day, of course. One thing’s for sure, the other two grand prix will be 100% thrilling! After the events of the Brazilian Grand Prix and the Qatar Grand Prix, when Hamilton literally flew away from all his pursuers, Red Bull fans in particular were dreading the next two races.

According to the Motorsport website, however, the seven-time champion should no longer have such an advantage. This is grist for the mill for Horner and Verstappen, whose chances of winning the title are still high.

Make no mistake, fighting for your first F1 title is an intense moment in a racing career, but the maturity Max has shown during the season has been extremely impressive,” Horner explains on the Red Bull website.

Between the lines, Horner also tries to “provoke” Hamilton and Mercedes into some sort of reaction. After all, the media spat between the two teams has been on display almost all season.

“He’s relaxed and handles the pressure incredibly well. I think he’s driving better than ever. A good example was the Qatar race when he didn’t feel we could catch Lewis, but he commented on the radio that he wanted to have some fun,” the Red Bull boss added.

“Fighting for two world titles is exactly what we have been working hard for. We’re going into the last race and it’s extremely close. Max is only eight points ahead in the drivers’ championship and we are five points behind in the constructors’ championship,” he realises.

“In previous years, we would have bitten our hand off to be in this position at this stage of the championship,” he concluded.

The fact is that Red Bull has gone up extremely well in terms of performance, as any Formula 1 fan must objectively acknowledge. However, it must also be noted that the experienced Brit knows very well how to behave in these moments.

It was Prost who recently said that only under great pressure can Hamilton get the best out of himself. So let’s hope for a clean sweep between the two drivers and whoever wins the championship, this season will go down as one to remember.
