Hope for gold! Hradecka and Escobar head to Australian Open semifinals
Although Czech fans are sad about Barbora Krejcikova’s elimination, we have hope for gold in mixed doubles. There, Lucie Hradecka plays alongside Gonzalo Escobar and this pair has already reached the semi-finals.
Although Czech fans are sad about Barbora Krejcikova’s elimination, we have hope for gold in mixed doubles. There, Lucie Hradecka plays alongside Gonzalo Escobar and this pair has already reached the semi-finals.
There are only two pairs left for the Czech fans. Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova in doubles are the favourites of the whole tournament, but we also have a chance in mixed doubles.
There, the duo Lucie Hradecka and Gonzalo Escobar are performing outstandingly. The rather unusual combination of the Czech and the Ecuadorian is working well.
In the quarter-finals this pair defeated the pair Ninomiya/Qureshi twice 7::5 and after an hour and a half it was done and they can rest before the semi-finals.
On Thursday they will face a tough duel with Jaimee Fourlis and Jason Kubler, a much younger Australian pair.
This pair didn’t have an easy progression either, beating the Mirza/Ram pair 6:4 in the first set and 7:6 in the second.
The other semi-final pairings are not yet known, the matches are either being played or are yet to be played today.
