Hložek has other competition. Leverkusen brought the Chelsea winger

Bayer Leverkusen react to a poor start to the new season and a poor situation in attack. Callum Hudson-Odoi arrives from Chelsea to strengthen the wing position.
While last year Leverkusen had no problems scoring goals, so far this year it has been a big misery. Bayer first lost 0:1 to Dortmund, then succumbed 1:2 to Augsburg and then lost 0:3 at home to Hoffenheim. It wasn’t until the weekend that Bayer finally got going and beat Mainz 3-0.
Adam Hložek dropped out of the line-up and did not play a single minute, which means he is now facing more competition. Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi comes in at left wing, where he has been playing for Bayer.
He was predicted to have a great career, but for various reasons, mainly due to injury, he hasn’t developed his full potential yet. It is a guest appearance at Bayer that could help the 24-year-old striker to do just that.
He comes to Werkself on a one-year loan, helping Bayer to plug the holes on the wing after the injuries to Bellarabi and Adli.
“We have signed a fast and dangerous winger. He has everything he needs to help us right away,” said delighted sporting director Simon Rolf.
“I’m really looking forward to Leverkusen. Plus I can play Champions League here,” Hudson-Odoi said after arriving in Germany. “I’m looking forward to getting to know the fans and the Bundesliga. Kai Havertz told me good things about Bayer at Chelsea,” he revealed that the former Leverkusen player recommended him to come.
So it’s great news for Bayer, not so much for Hložek, who will have to contend with more competition.
