The Czech national team won the penultimate match of the World Cup qualification, beating Belarus 2-0 in Kazan. Two strikers scored, Patrik Schick in the first half and Adam Hložek in the second half.

Adam Hložek had the first chance of the match in the second minute, but he hit the first defending player. On the other side, Pavel Sedko had a nice try from a direct kick, but missed the near post by a whisker.

In the 22nd minute, the Czechs took the lead. A beautiful centre by Michal Sadílek was found by Patrik Schick and he scored from a volley. Jaroslav Šilhavy’s men then tried to add an insurance goal, but they were not successful in the end.

The score was 0:1. Jakub Pešek could have increased the lead right after the change of sides, but from a good position he just missed the back post. In the 54th minute Schick went alone at the goalkeeper, but his lob missed the net.

In the 65th minute, the Czech fans were celebrating as Hložek scored with the help of a defender.

Then the pace of the game slackened a bit, the home team tried to at least reduce it, but the Czechs, who were already relaxed, controlled the end of the match.

The Czech Republic took three points from Belarus and keep their hopes for the second place in the group, although Wales also managed to win their match.
