The long speculated transfer is finally becoming a reality. Swiss international Granit Xhaka is moving from London to Germany, signing a new five-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen.

The transfer amount regarding Granit Xhaka has been dragging on for some time now. In fact, Arsenal management has been working on reviving the midfield ranks for a long time, which is finally happening.

Thanks to the expected arrival of West Ham captain Declan Rice in the Gunners midfield, the move has come to fruition.

Xhaka, despite his long-standing leadership attributes, great calming in his head and the extraordinary growth in form he showed especially in the first half of last season, will no longer be donning the jersey of the London outfit.

The Swiss will now be providing his services to an employer from Germany, specifically Bayer Leverkusen. The Czech duo of Patrik Schick and Adam Hložek will thus get an experienced name.

It is Xabi Alonso’s team that has been the most talked about transfer in recent weeks by the now former Arsenal captain. This is a very interesting amount of money for the London club’s management, as 25 million euros are coming from Leverkusen.

Moreover, the transfer is also a great deal for the player himself. The former captain of the Gunners has signed in Leverkusen for a long five years, until 2028.

The back line at the Emirates Stadium is getting a new touch and formula. In addition to the spectacular arrival of Rice, Kai Havertz, who comes from arch rivals Stamford Bridge, also dons the new red and white jersey.

The German international has been built more as a central or sub-centre forward in recent years, but he certainly hasn’t forgotten his midfield skills.
