Three years ago, the era of African stoppers in Slavia ended, now the last chapter of Ondrej Kudela’s era has been written. What have been the biggest matches the national team stopper has experienced in his four and a half years in the red and white?

14. 3. 2019 – Slavia vs. Sevilla 4::3pp
A match that Slavia fans will never forget. The Sevilla team led twice, but Sevilla equalized twice. It went into extra time, which the Prague team broke in their favour in the 119th minute. Kúdela filled in on the right side of the defence in the absence of Vladimír Coufal, but the 4-2-3-1 system often switched to a 3-4-3 formation.
28.8.2019 – Slavia vs. Cluj 1::0
The Red-and-Whites took a one-goal lead into the home rematch of the last Champions League preliminary round and sealed their historic qualification with a 1: 0 home win. Kúdela and David Hovorka replaced the pair of Simon Deli, Michael Ngadeu, who left for Belgium in the summer. Slavia did not score a single goal in 180 minutes.
17.9.2019 – Inter Milan vs. Slavia 1::1
The opening game of the group stage was evenly matched for a long time, with Slavia leading until the second set minute, yet still taking a point. Kudel, defending Lautaro Martinez, remained a bit in the shadow of Hovorka, who cleared the huge Romelu Lukaku. He still contributed to the draw, as did the rest of the team, leaving everything on the pitch.
5.11.2019 – Barcelona vs. Slavia 0::0
Only one team in three or four years can keep a zero at Camp Nou in the Champions League, and Slavia can be proud of this jubilee. Lionel Messi hits the crossbar, the Susians score a goal from offside. Kúdela coaxed the criticized Michal Frydrych next to him and gave a reliable performance in the center of defense.
25.2.2021 – Leicester vs. Slavia 0::2
A goalless draw at home gave Slavia a great chance for a rematch and the underdog managed to take the game at the King Power stadium. The 0:2 result shocked Europe, as did the fact that the midfield duo of David Zima, Ondrej Kudel did not score once in 180 minutes from Jamie Vardy and co. The combination of youth and experience worked, both were among the best on the pitch.
