Israel Adesanya has another title fight ahead of him. Sean Strickland will challenge him in September. However, the UFC, in his words, didn’t want the American fighter to get a chance. Why?

The middleweight champion has had a difficult time. His kryptonite Alex Pereira robbed him of the title after years of dominance, but in the rematch Israel Adesanya showed not only great qualities, but especially great mental strength and took the belt back.

Now he faces his first defence after becoming champion again. His opponent in September will be Sean Strickland, who, although a quality fighter, is not well liked by the UFC and, in fact, the public in general.

Adesanya said in a recent interview that the organization didn’t want Strickland to fight for the title at all. “He’s an idiot and the UFC doesn’t want him to embarrass the organization,” Bloody Elbow quotes the champion as saying.

What’s the problem? Strickland refers to himself as white trash, compares the United States of America to Communist China, and to make matters worse, after his last win he talked about women not being allowed to work and should go back to the kitchen for no reason.

In addition to this, the American militant talks about the fact that corporations are undermining social values, he is also bothered by the fact that there are more and more atheists in America, and he considers religion to be the basis of human values.

Adesanya says that if it wasn’t for him, Strickland definitely wouldn’t have gotten the chance to fight for the title. I wanted that fight. I’m glad the UFC believes in me and listens to me.”

The champion will be the favorite against Strickland. Of the top middleweights, he’s the only fighter he hasn’t fought and therefore hasn’t beaten. Otherwise, Adesanya has cleaned up the entire division honestly and has beaten some stars twice.
