Kylian Mbappé has once again caused quite a stir. After the league match in which PSG only drew 0-0 with Reims, he hinted on social media his dissatisfaction with the way the coach used him. The Frenchman had to play alone on the pitch.
He had already criticised Christophe Galtier for this in the past. He said that he prefers to play next to someone else or under someone else to have more freedom. He was publicly criticised for his behaviour by Emmanuel Petit.
On Tuesday, PSG took on Benfica in the Champions League. Before the game, however, there were reports in the media and on social media that Mbappé wanted to leave Paris as soon as possible. The reason is his dissatisfaction.
Another legend, this time Thierry Henry, also commented on the situation. The latter, somewhat more diplomatic than Petit, had a few words for the PSG star. You may not like it, but there is something bigger than anything else, and that is the club,” Henry is clear.
However, the Arsenal or Barcelona legend mentioned that PSG could also be to blame. His question as to whether PSG gave Mbappe the feeling that the club was the most important thing, or if it gave him the feeling that he himself was more important than the club, is more than on point.
He later admitted that he himself had to suppress his ego at Barcelona when he played in positions he wasn’t happy about: ‘I hated it, but I did it for the team. There is only one rule. When the boss asks you to do something, do it if it’s good for the team.”
