Juventus will be fighting for a place in the TOP 4 on Thursday as they travel to the last team in the table, Hellas Verona. What to expect from the match between two teams that are definitely not playing their best football and what to bet on?
Hellas have been struggling in terms of play and results after the departure of mainstays Antonin Barak and Giovanni Simone and have lost eight of their last nine games. The team from Romeo and Juliet is in last place in the table, four points behind 17th-placed Lecce.
Juventus, on the other hand, beat Inter Milan in the last round and proved that they can still compete with the Italian top flight after being knocked out of the Champions League. They are in fifth place in the table, just three points behind Lazio Rome in third.
French striker Thomas Henry, the author of two goals and one assist, is putting in a decent performance for the home side. Twenty-year-old left back Josh Doig has already peeked into the Scottish national team despite competition from Andrew Robertson and Kieran Tierney thanks to a 2+2 record.
With the injury to goalscorer Dusan Vlahovic, the visitors are relying on Arkadiusz Milik, the Polish striker has hit the post five times through all competitions so far. French national midfielder Adrien Rabiot also has five shots.
Verona’s defence has been particularly tragic, scoring the most goals in Serie A (26) and conceding more than once in eight of their last nine games.
Juventus’ defence, on the other hand, has come on strong, keeping a clean sheet in four of the last six games. Overall, the Old Lady have only conceded seven times in the league, the fewest in Serie A.
Considering Juventus’ win against Inter and the terrible form of the whole Hellas squad, I think the visitors will win.
