He ruined his career by transferring. Hazard sees £100m drop in market value after move to Real
Eden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid was supposed to cap off a meteoric career. However, he experienced the opposite. After moving to Spain, the Belgian footballer has seen a £100 million drop in the market.
Eden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid was supposed to cap off a meteoric career. However, he experienced the opposite. After moving to Spain, the Belgian footballer has seen a £100 million drop in the market.
In a Chelsea jersey, he was one of the best players in the world. He tirelessly kept the opposition’s defence busy in every game, and he had great numbers to boot. So at the time, it was quite logical that Eden Hazard was valued at £135 million on the market.
Hazard had plenty of suitors for his services during his time at Chelsea, until he finally couldn’t resist an offer from Real Madrid. So two years ago he moved to Spain.
And from that point on, Eden Hazard’s career seemed to go steeply downhill. In two seasons, he has played just 30 games for Real, scoring only four times.
The Belgian international’s prolonged and relatively frequent injuries are to blame. However, it should be noted that even in those matches where Hazard was fit, he did not impress with his performances.
He is not the Hazard he used to be. And he can only dream about his £135 million value. In two seasons he has seen a horrendous £99m drop, now Eden Hazard is valued on the market at £36m.
