Vasil Kushei was still shining in the youth teams of Dynamo Dresden. He had great numbers and amazed the German youth scene with his performances.
He scored 20 goals in 32 games for Dresden’s 17-man squad and added 4 assists. He did even better in the 19, scoring 29 goals and adding 13 assists in 48 games.
But his transition to adulthood didn’t work out. He didn’t play once for Dynamo’s “A” team and his guest appearances in Austria or at home didn’t work out.
In Austria, he was a guest of Wacker Innsbruck in the second league, played four games and did not score a goal.
This season, he was not a big success either, as he played in his native Ústí nad Labem, which also plays in the second league. His minutes were pretty solid, playing over 1800 minutes, but he only scored twice and assisted once.
Dynamo Dresden decided that it was not worth keeping Kusej in the squad and decided to terminate his contract, which was due to expire in the summer of 2022, early. The club announced this on their website and social media.
For Kusej, however, it may not mean the end. After all, he only turned 21 in May and his entire career is still ahead of him.
