Khamzat Chimaev “stole” the UFC 279 show for himself

Khamzat Chimaev “stole” the last UFC 279 gala for himself. First, he provoked a mass brawl backstage at the press conference and then failed to make the weight limit by nearly 4 kilograms, resulting in the entire tournament card being shuffled.

The Swedish fighter with Chechen roots was originally scheduled to fight Nate Diaz in the main event of the evening. However, after the aforementioned events, he ended up fighting at catchweight with Kevin Holland, whom he finished before the halfway point of the first round without receiving a single punch.

In his post-fight interview in the octagon afterwards, he showed not an ounce of regret over the situation and moreover, was very rude to the fans. They showed their dislike by booing loudly throughout his speech.

The legendary Khabib offered a strange take on Khimaev’s behavior, to say the least

With his insane behavior throughout the entire weekend event, he not only pitted most of the American fans against him, but a lot of star names from the fight scene as well. One of them is undefeated legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, who offered a strange take on the matter, to say the least.

If you’re a Muslim, you should have good and like-minded people around you,” Khabib said , according to the Mirror. “A Muslim should tell him what to do and what not to do,” he explained Khimaev’s crazy behavior over the past weekend.

“Of course I watched his weigh-ins and his limit problems, I focused on him, but also on his whole team,” he described. “Thanks to that, I found out there was no Muslim with him, which is a very big mistake,” he offered his insight into the situation.

“Because if someone is a Muslim, he must have strong and good people around him,” said the undefeated MMA legend. “They would tell him clearly how to behave and what to do and not to do,” he added of the Chechen fighter.
