Eden Hazard’s engagement at Real Madrid is a big disappointment. The Belgian footballer is practically not starting, he is only last in the hierarchy of strikers, yet he wants to fulfill his contract and stay at the Bernabéu for one more year.

Much has already been written about Eden Hazard’s failed engagement at Real Madrid. He came to the Spanish capital with the stamp of the Premier League’s best player and Florentino Pérez shelled out €115 million for him.

But Hazard’s career in the white jersey was a fiasco. He was constantly injured for the first two years, but he still had confidence, only when he did play, he didn’t perform.

Gradually, Real ran out of patience and even when Hazard is healthy, he is practically absent on the pitch, as the trio of Vinicius, Benzema, Rodrigo, Valverde, Asensio and even Mariano Diaz are ahead of him in the hierarchy of strikers.

Real Madrid dominated the Copa del Rey final on Saturday night, and Hazard added the last trophy he was missing to his collection.

During the celebrations, television station ‘Cadena Cope’ approached him to ask how he would assess his season. “It’s a difficult year for me, but it’s a year in a great team,” Hazard replied.

In the current La Liga season, the Belgian has only started one game in the starting lineup, playing a total of just 133 minutes in five games. He has one shot on target.

Although Ancelotti is not counting on him, Hazard is not giving up. “I want to play more, but I know it’s very difficult. I have to work hard and hope to play more,” the 32-year-old forward added.

He has one year left on his contract and is one of the players expected to leave the club in the summer. Asked if he wanted to keep his contract, he replied

Hazard has previously expressed that he does not want to leave Madrid because of his family and happy life in Spain.
