Not long ago one of the best footballers on the planet, currently a rather unwanted commodity. Eden Hazard is still a free agent after ending up at Real Madrid. He has turned down one interesting offer himself, the club from his native country is keeping its hands off him.
He came to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 as a big reinforcement for 115 million euros. He was supposed to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, but Eden Hazard never managed that. He ended up spending four seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu.
76 competitive games, 7 goals and 12 assists. This is a sad record at Real Madrid for a man who was one of the best footballers on the planet, the driving force behind Chelsea and the Belgian national team before he left for Spain.
Apart from his not-so-good performances, Hazard was also plagued by frequent injuries, but he didn’t do much to help his lifestyle, which was often discussed not only in the media but also in fan discussions.
But now Hazard is a free agent and still only 32 years old, so he may still have a few seasons ahead of him. But there is not much interest in him. Moreover, he surprisingly turned down one interesting offer himself.
According to Voetbalkrant, the Belgian had an offer on the table from Inter Miami, so he could have played with stars like Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets or Jordi Alba. Plus, there wouldn’t necessarily be as much pressure on him.
Hazard reportedly does not want to leave Europe and is not ready for life in the United States. Recently, then, there has been speculation that he could return to his homeland, having been linked with a move to Anderlecht.
However, Anderlecht have distanced themselves from the speculation and have publicly rejected Hazard’s arrival. According to Transfermarkt, Fenerbahce were interested in the player earlier this year. Turkish clubs are now buying up big names and Hazard could be an interesting option.
