Hazard is practically a former footballer, says former Real Madrid striker
Eden Hazard and an ex-footballer? Soon the harsh reality. The Belgian striker is living a nightmare at Real Madrid and former Los Blancos forward Predrag Mijatovic has labelled him as such.
Eden Hazard and an ex-footballer? Soon the harsh reality. The Belgian striker is living a nightmare at Real Madrid and former Los Blancos forward Predrag Mijatovic has labelled him as such.
Mijatovic spent three seasons at Real Madrid between 1996 and 1999, playing 118 games and parting with a record of 36 goals and 14 assists. He also won La Liga and the Champions League.
So he has his say on the current Real Madrid squad. In an interview with Radio MARCA, he did so on several current topics.
“Real Madrid, like all great teams, has good and bad moments. The moment others think Real Madrid is dead, interesting things start to happen,” Mijatovic said about Real’s current decline in form.
Indeed, the royal club has not returned in good form after the break. It has not performed well in any of its matches, lost to Barcelona in the Super Cup final and lost to Villarreal in the league.
There is also a lot of talk about the current squad and whether it needs strengthening. According to the fans, they definitely do, but Carlo Ancelotti has said that the squad is good and no reinforcements will come in January.
“In January there is no need for transfers, in the summer there is. What is missing is a striker, a creative midfielder and runners. I hear they are working on Bellingham. I dream of Mbappé at Real, sooner or later he has to be a Los Blancos player,” Mijatovic said.
And the current squad players? “We will enjoy Modric for a while,” says the author of 76 starts for Yugoslavia. “The Hazard thing is unreal, nobody expected it. Talking about him is like talking about a former player,” adds Mijatovic.
