Slavia defeated Austrian LASK Linz 4:1 in the opening game of the European Conference League Eight. The goals were scored by African footballers.
Twenty-one year old Nigerian Yira Sor scored twice in the first half, his compatriot Peter Olayinka and Ibrahim Traoré from Ivory Coast increased the score.
Sor was far from a hat-trick, as he burned several promising opportunities, basically the same as in the rematch with Fenerbahce. What did he say about it in a post-match interview with the club website?
“Yes, I think I missed out on a hat-trick. I wanted to score it. I lost it against Fenerbahce as well, but I have my head up and I believe it will come one day.”
Slavia take a really promising result into the rematch and promotion is close. “We have to keep our form. In football you always expect drama. When we go to Austria, we have to stay focused, play with the same intensity and hopefully win again,” Sor added.
The Sixers are also playing for the national coefficient, as they need to fight for 15th place, which is currently held by Greece, who have PAOK in the game. The latter also won, so the fight will be even tougher.
