Martin Hašek has been a player of the Turkish second league team Erzurumspor since the summer of last year. The goal was to be promoted to the elite, but it didn’t happen. In the semi-finals of the play-offs, Hašek’s team fell short to Istanbulspor, and the Czech midfielder only played 20 minutes in the decisive match.

The 26-year-old Hašek has the 2021/22 season behind him, but he probably imagined the end of it a bit better. His Erzurumspor was not far from promotion to the elite.

In the league they finished fifth, Hašek played thirty league games, scoring five goals and adding four assists. He cannot be satisfied with his productivity.

Thanks to the fifth place, Erzurumspor went to the play-offs, in which they faced fourth-placed Istanbulspor. And the opening home game didn’t go at all as the fans expected.

The 2:4 loss made their journey to the final much more difficult, and Hašek was substituted at half-time. He did not start the rematch in the starting line-up.

Erzurumspor won 1: 0 away, but it was not enough. Hašek came on for the final 20 minutes and it was the last minutes of the season for him and his team.

Istanbulspor will fight for promotion to the top flight tomorrow, June 2. Their opponents will be Bandirmaspor, who finished one place ahead of them in the league.
