Has he gone mad? Márquez fell for the fifth time at Sachsenring. Before he broke his rival’s bike in half, now he suffered a fracture
Crazy race weekend. These are the exact words that could sum up Marc Márquez’s interim performance at the Sachsenring in Germany. He crashed for the fifth time in Saturday’s warm-up, this time causing a fracture. However, he will be able to start the race.

The eight-time world champion is having a horror weekend at the Sachsenring so far this year. He has already fallen five times in three days and his predictions for the race are looking all over the place, even though he starts from seventh place.
He suffered one of the worst looking crashes of the weekend in the second practice session when he wiped out Johann Zarco (Pramac) at the pit lane exit.
Fortunately, neither driver was seriously hurt, but they understandably got into a war of words together afterwards, with Márquez even blaming Zarco for the accident.
You can see the whole moment in the video below. What makes it all the more ironic is that Márquez said not long after the incident that this collision could have been avoided if Zarco had avoided him.
Quite objectively speaking – this is insane. And not just the accident itself, but what led up to it. To crash so dangerously only on the exit lap, and to even label Zarco as the culprit, that’s beyond reprehensible.
Unfortunately for the Spanish rider, it just goes to show how dangerous he is really becoming for himself and others. It’s no wonder that many fans also see him at the end of his career.
Honda themselves share some of the blame
However, on the other hand, Honda’s Repsol motorcycle is not working and this is proven by the crashes not only of Márquez, but also of teammate Joan Miró or Alex Rins, who for a change rides a bike of the non-factory brand LCR.
He crashed three more times in Saturday’s qualifying action, and he scored another crash in today’s and Sunday’s 10-minute warm-ups respectively. This traditionally takes place before every race, and now Márquez has been injured.
He suffered his fifth crash in a row at turn 6, when his bike “kicked” him out of the saddle. According to Motorsport, Márquez subsequently limped off the track, avoided consultation with his team and was subsequently taken to a medical centre for examination.
MotoGP subsequently confirmed that the legendary Spaniard has a minor fracture to the first finger of his left hand. However, according to these reports, he is fit to race. The question is whether he will actually start the German Grand Prix. It starts at 14:00.
