The current Bundesliga season is coming to an end, with Bayern still coached by Thomas Tuchel. However, his time on the bench of the Bavarian club is getting very short, and it has been clear for several months that the former Chelsea coach will leave the Allianz Arena after the season.
Germany’s most successful club had two primary alternatives as far as potential replacements were concerned. The first was current Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, who recently celebrated winning the first championship title in the club’s history with his team.
However, he has recently confirmed that he will not be leaving Bayer. The second choice was Julian Nagelsmann, who had a short-term contract with the German national team covering the upcoming European Championships.
However, it is now clear that Nagelsmann will remain with the German national team, or the four-time world champions, until 2026. He has agreed a contract with the German Football Association until 2026.
Rangnick to Bayern?
And so Bayern had to focus on option number three, which according to the latest reports is Ralf Rangnick. The problem is that he is currently the coach of the Austrian national team, with whom he has a contract until 2026.
But the Bavarian giant is still in talks with him, according to Sky Sports. But since Rangnick has a contract with Austria, he would have to pay for his transfer.
The two sides will come to the negotiating table this week. Rangnick will therefore decide on his future very soon. Should Bayern fail even with this third alternative, option number 4 is still in play. That is Roberto De Zerbi.
