Hancock’s transfer? For me and for tennis there were better offers. I wanted Mallorca the most, admitted Pliskova
Dávid Hancko has transferred from Sparta Prague to Feyenoord Rotterdam in the Netherlands, which will also affect his wife Kristýna Plíšková. She spoke about the move and her tennis career in a not very positive way.
Dávid Hancko has transferred from Sparta Prague to Feyenoord Rotterdam in the Netherlands, which will also affect his wife Kristýna Plíšková. She admitted in an interview that she would prefer another engagement.
The lives of footballers and their partners are often nomadic. Moving around the world is no exception and now Slovak quarterback Dávid Hancko is experiencing something similar.
Although on a smaller scale, the former Sparta stopper is moving to the Netherlands, having accepted an offer from Feyenoord Rotterdam. But this transfer is not only about him, but also about his wife Kristyna Pliskova and their two-month-old son.
They will of course also move with him to the second largest city in the Netherlands, although Pliskova admitted in an interview with Livesport that she would rather be with another team, or rather country.
“It’s not that I’m sad about Rotterdam, but there were offers from better destinations. For me and for tennis. But for David it’s probably the best choice. There was Mallorca, that’s the one I wanted the most.
There was a tournament there, there are other smaller tournaments there where I want to start playing tennis again somehow, and there’s the Rafa Nadal academy. That’s what I was pushing for. There were other offers, but David was after Feyenoord. I guess there wasn’t much else on the table, so I’m out of luck,” she said with a smile.
Pliskova has taken a break from tennis, but she is still only 30 years old and is definitely not looking to end her career. But in the end, she admitted that she is glad for the change of scenery and she can definitely combine it with tennis.
“Really? I really want to go! I’ve been used to travelling all my life, and now a year in one place has been really hard for me. Even though I love Prague and Troja is beautiful and I love it here, we have friends here, we get to see people for football… It’s all good. We’ll probably be alone outside for a while, but it’s not the end of the world and sometimes someone will come to see us,” she added.
