One of the rules of football in Turkey is currently receiving a lot of criticism. The reason for this is the disallowance of a wonderful goal by Marek Hamsik, who scored with a weak foot from the middle of the pitch. What happened?
As it happens, footballers and fans often cannot know all the rules of football. Moreover, with the way the rules change so often, it’s simply almost impossible.
Moreover, some of the rules don’t make much sense and fans are calling for their abolition. Now one of the rules in Turkey has come under fire from critics.
The reason is simple. Marek Hamsik has caught a new motivation in Trabzonspor, the desire to play. Fans have fallen in love with him, experts admire his stamina, his running, his technique and his incredible overview of the game.
He proved all this in Saturday’s match at Kayserispor, where Trabzonspor won 2-1. In addition, he scored a wonderful goal from the middle of the field, and with his weaker foot. But the goal was disallowed.
In fact, the Slovak legend scored immediately after the ball was put back in play by the referee. The rules are clear. At least two players must touch the ball after it has been put back into play for the goal to be recognised.
The goal was therefore disallowed correctly, but in Turkey this rule, which apparently even Hamšík had no idea about, caused a great wave of discontent. It is not only Trabzonspor fans who are calling for its abolition on social media. Will they live to see it?
