The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix takes place on December 5th, with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix a week later. And that’s where we’ll end the current year. In all likelihood, the last race will be the scene of the final decision.
Will Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton win the title? Former Toyota and Williams driver Ralf Schumacher revealed his prediction in an interview with Sky Sports
“Mercedes have a much better car than Red Bull at the moment. Max is giving it his all and showing how good he is. But normally he doesn’t stand a chance,” Schumacher said in an interview with Germany’s Sky.
“If it wasn’t for all the bad luck that accompanied him during the season, he might have become world champion long ago,” he added.
Schumacher was referring in particular to the race in Azerbaijan, where he lost a certain victory due to a puncture. Hamilton, it should be noted, also did not score any points from that race, as he committed a stall into the first corner after the restart on the penultimate lap of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and found himself at the very tail of the field.
But he also recalled the Silverstone incident where he crashed hard into the tyre barrier after making contact with Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes.
The current state of the drivers’ championship is as follows – the Red Bull driver leads the drivers’ standings with 351 and a half points, eight points ahead of second-placed Hamilton. It is also very close in the team championship.
Here, Mercedes is in first place with 546 and a half points. The second-placed Red Bull has only five points less! So we can expect the last two races to be very hectic indeed and extremely exciting for fans of both camps.
