Hamilton on Red Bull: This is the fastest car I’ve ever seen! He said he had no chance to defend against Verstappen

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team has not had an ideal start to the new edition of the queen of motorsport, with Lewis Hamilton complaining most about the current monocoque. But beyond that, the seven-time champion admitted that Red Bull’s current car is the fastest he has ever seen in his life.

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team has not had an ideal start to the new edition of the queen of motorsport, with Lewis Hamilton complaining most about the current monopoly. But beyond that, the seven-time champion admitted that Red Bull’s current car is the fastest he has ever seen in his life.

Red Bull has recorded another double in Saudi Arabia and is currently unrivalled in terms of the strength of the grid.

The second round of this year’s F1 season was clearly dominated by Sergio Pérez, with Max Verstappen climbing from 15th to finish second, albeit with the help of a safety car.

The Austrian team thus clearly dominates not only the drivers’ championship, but also the Constructors’ Cup. You can see the standings of both championships in the attached Twitter post below. It should be added, it also includes the return of third place to Fernando Alonso.

Red Bull’s dominance is simply not to be missed. This is also evidenced by Hamilton’s claim that he believes he has never seen a faster car on the grid. And this, he says, even compared to the car with which the British driver crushed the competition in the early years of turbo-hybrids.

This is the fastest car I’ve ever seen!

“I’ve certainly never seen a car this fast. I think when we were fast, we weren’t that fast. I think this is the fastest car I’ve ever seen, especially compared to the others, ” Hamilton said in a post-race interview.

It should be noted that the 38-year-old was also one of the drivers Verstappen was able to pass on the track without too much trouble.

“I don’t know how or why, but he passed me at a good speed. I didn’t even bother to block because it was just a huge difference in speed,” he explained.

Hamilton and teammate George Russell finished the Saudi Grand Prix in fifth and fourth respectively.

On the plus side for Mercedes, even though they were nowhere near the pace of Red Bull and Alonso’s Aston Martin, its drivers managed to stay ahead of Ferrari and score vital points in both championships.
