Hamilton described Verstappen’s actions as aggressive and did not understand the collision. Do you agree?

Do you stand with Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton? Both fan camps probably can’t stand the end of the season and the Saudi Grand Prix situation doesn’t help matters. The British driver, however, sees it quite clearly. Do you agree with him or not?

The battle for the championship couldn’t be more exciting. The Saudi Grand Prix has been an absolutely crazy affair overall, but the moment on lap 38 will probably be talked about for a long time to come.

Since we’ve already written one article on the subject, but from Verstappen’s perspective, we’ll just briefly outline the situation now. On lap 37, Hamilton attacked the race leader, with both drivers going off track.

However, the Red Bull driver maintained his lead and gained some advantage by going off the track. On lap 38, he was then instructed by his team to let Hamilton pass, whereupon Verstappen slowed down a few corners later to allow Hamilton to pass him.

However, he failed to do so and crashed into the race leader. The seven-time world champion damaged his front wing.

“I don’t understand why he suddenly hit the brakes so hard. I hit him from behind and then he kept going. I didn’t understand what was happening. Then I got a message that he was letting me go. It was a bit confusing,” Hamilton described the collision in a post-race interview.

Hamilton, however, described Verstappen’s racing as too aggressive, or rather he said he was already driving over the edge.

“I’ve raced with a lot of drivers in my career and I’ve come across a lot of different characters. But then there are some who drive over the limit, or over the edge. The rules don’t apply to them or they don’t think about them,” Hamilton realises.

Asked if this also applies to Verstappen, he replied. “Yes, definitely. His racing is over the edge. I’ve already avoided several crashes this year because of my behaviour on the track. It doesn’t matter to him if we both retire from the race or not. The way I see it, we both have to finish the race. It will be interesting to see what happens next time,” he concluded.

One thing is for sure, the title will be decided in the last race of the season. Both now have 369.5 points and we can expect a tough fight in Abu Dhabi.
