Halftime skirmish? I tried to get in between them to prevent something from happening, explained Trpišovský
Slavia did not perform badly at Feyenoord and took home a 3:3 draw from the Netherlands. But it could have been better, the Slavs were leading 2:1, then their opponent turned the score around and Ibrahim Traoré saved the result at the very end. What did coach Jindřich Trpišovský say after the match?

Slavia travelled to the Netherlands as an underdog, the reason being the autumn match which ended in a victory for Feyenoord thanks to an excellent start.
The home side took the lead early on. They could have increased it, but the crossbar was against them. Slavia then equalised from Peter Olayinka’s kick and Yira Sor even sent them into the lead in the second half.
However, not only did Susians not keep it, but even lost 2:3. However, Ibrahim Traoré equalised in the fifth minute and the result 3: 3 is good for the rematch.
“The home environment was now a huge advantage for Feyenoord. When there’s emotions or pressure even on the referee, it’s really a hurricane here. We know it will be a sell-out at home. It can be a big help for all the players.
We saw what the 2-2 goal did to the game. I see a home field advantage. The fans will be there and they’ll enjoy it. I really hope it will be as good a game as the first one,” said coach Jindřich Trpišovský at the press conference.
A melee broke out at half-time, with the coach getting involved after Olayinka was caught under the neck by the home team’s assistant coach. What happened there?
“I didn’t want to be active, I wanted to calm it down, but at the last moment I saw that there was a little club of players and the implementation team and it started to accumulate. We had some card-threatened players, so it was a case of not letting them get carded. It doesn’t matter with the implementation team.
Peter was being held under the throat, so I was trying to get in between them to make sure something didn’t happen. I wanted to get in rather than Peter getting in, but then it calmed down and we shook hands. We wanted to separate our players from the conflict so something wouldn’t happen to them,” he added.
Slavia must now focus on the league again, as they will now challenge relegation candidate Pardubice at home on Sunday. They then play a rematch with Feyenoord on Thursday.
