Guest or fight for minutes? These are the Bayern players who will expect a heavier match load
Last season, Bayern Munich became German champions for the eleventh time in a row thanks to an incredible upset of Borussia Dortmund. But as it is the case with big clubs, not all players are always maximally satisfied with the game load and the Bavarian giant is no exception.
Last season, Bayern Munich became German champions for the eleventh time in a row thanks to an incredible upset of Borussia Dortmund. But as it is the case with big clubs, not all players are always maximally satisfied with the game load and the Bavarian giant is no exception.
The very first player who will expect a heavier workload is Ryan Gravenberch. He has even made his dissatisfaction with his minutes public a few times and it’s no wonder.
After all, in his first season after his transfer from Ajax, he played only 562 minutes in the Bundesliga and was only in the starting lineup three times out of 24 games.
The Dutchman also expressed that if his workload doesn’t improve, he will have to start looking for another engagement. For example, Liverpool were interested in him.
Seventeen-year-old Paul Wanner would certainly deserve a better chance. The offensive midfielder from Bayern’s academy is one of Germany’s biggest prospects. However, that hasn’t reflected too much in his first-team workload so far, as he has only started 2 games in the Bundesliga this season.
Malik Tillman, on the other hand, cannot complain about his minutes. He spent last season at Scottish Rangers, from where he returns with an impressive league stats of 10+4. However, it looks like he won’t stay at Bayern for long, as he is interested in Germany and England.
Bayern’s season has been rather disappointing for many, despite their ultimate success. One of the few positives, however, is Mathys Tel.
The French striker arrived before the season from Rennes for 20 million euros, which for many was a very large sum indeed for a player who hasn’t played much in adult football.
But in France, they knew how big a talent he is and he immediately started proving his price tag. He scored 5 goals in the Bundesliga, although most of the time he popped up for a few minutes at the end of games and only appeared once in the starting line-up.
