Manchester City managed a very important home game against Arsenal during the week, moving significantly closer to a third league title in a row. Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, claims that the Citizens have the trophy in their hands.
The Citizens have gained a crucial advantage in the closing stages of the Premier League. They have reduced Arsenal’s lead to just two points with two games to play.
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola must be pleased with their recent performances, as his charges have not lost since the February match against Tottenham.
“We can’t lose our concentration. It’s in our hands now. These next three games will dictate if we can do what we want to do, ” the Spaniard revealed in his post-match press conference.
Guardiola has a wealth of experience in league title battles and is certainly not going to underestimate anything. Especially when his charges still have 7 games to play in the league.
“The players know they need to say it’s close. We need to win to stay under pressure. That mentality where you have no choice but to win is the best mentality you can play with. The players have shown that they go into every game trying to go out and win.”
The development in the Premier League table has been very interesting in recent weeks, Arsenal had an eight-point lead just a short time ago, but three losses in a row may well have cost them the league title.
Manchester City are still fighting for three trophies. While the situation looks favourable for them in the Premier League, they will have to face Real Madrid in the Champions League and their neighbour Manchester United in the FA Cup.
