Although Antoine Griezmann is now fighting with the French national team at the European Championships for further success, he has still found time for media duties. He spoke to Le Figaro about his future.
Antoine Griezmann is now one of the main figures of the French national team and still defends the colours of Barcelona at club level, but he won’t stay there forever.
The 30-year-old striker is currently under contract in Catalonia until the summer of 2024, at which point he will probably end up at Barcelona.
Griezmann is aware that the increasing age is taking its toll on his body and he definitely doesn’t want to put a lot of strain on his body. That is also why he is looking at leaving for the USA.
“My contract expires in June 2024 and I think that after that it will be the right time to leave for the United States,” the French striker let it be known.
“I love the USA, the culture, the NBA and I have a desire for adventure. But I also have to get my family there,” continued the Barcelona player.
“I would like to finish my career there and still be good on the pitch, preferably with an MLS win. I certainly don’t want to go there and be useless, that wouldn’t make sense,” Griezmann finished.
