Great! Slavia has a great result for the rematch! Slovácko leaves Turkey very disappointed

Wild. Crazy. Both adjectives fit the duel between Slavia and Panathinaikos. However, after two red cards, a couple of shoves and two goals, the Sevivans set themselves up in a great position for the rematch. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Slovácko, who lost to Fenerbahce and also lost the suspended Hofmann.

Wild.

Slavia

Panathinaikos was expected to rely on a solid defensive line, as they have hardly scored in recent games. And this was confirmed, Slavia had an optical advantage in the beginning of the match, but they were practically not getting any chances.

The first excitement came after half an hour of play. First, Palacios saw a yellow card, then Douděra a short while later.

But it was fatal for the Argentine striker. In the 41st minute, he made a beautiful run from the halfway line to the penalty area, where he was all too eager to claim a foul, as Ousou’s slide was completely clean.

Chief referee Buquet showed great courage and showed the 30-year-old a yellow card. And since it was the second, Palacios had to be sent off.

And Slavia took advantage before half-time. Lingr could have scored right after, but he only hit the goalkeeper from the small area. However, a corner was followed by a scramble, after which Schranz crashed the ball into the net and sent the Susians into the lead with a volley.

At the start of the second half, referee Buquet was again in the lead role. Substitute Sporar was still starting from his own half when he was thrown off balance by Eduardo Santos.

The referee initially only blew the whistle for a foul and did not address the situation further. He even gave a yellow card to Šporar for protesting. But after a moment he changed his mind and actually showed Eduardo a red card, as he assessed that the Slovenian striker would advance alone on goal.

However, it did not decide Slavia, on the contrary. They created a lot of pressure, Traoré’s beautiful pass found Ewerton in the whitewash, whose shot ended up on the bar. However, Moses Usor found the rebound and scored his debut goal for Slavia.

Playing with ten men, the Red and Whites were happy to take advantage of more space on the pitch and get more chances. However, they did not add another goal. However, they still took a very promising 2:0 result into the rematch.

Slovácko

This definitely cannot be said about Slovácko. It knew it couldn’t jump too much on Fenerbahce and any away point would be golden. It just wanted to at least bring a good result to the rematch.

To do that, however, they needed to keep a clean sheet and that broke down in the 17th minute when Emre Mor scored.

At the end of the first half, Lincoln scored from a direct kick and Slovácko players went into the dressing room considerably scalded.

If they wanted to do something else with the unfavourable result in the second half, another hard blow came. In the 48th minute Hofmann saw his second yellow card and went to the showers.

Lincoln added a second goal in the 81st minute and had a hand in all three goals. The team from Uherské Hradiště took a very unpleasant result to the home rematch.
