Great result! Pastrnak is on the NHL All-Star team, along with McDavid. Who are the stars of the past season?

The NHL held its annual awards ceremony on Monday night. In addition to the individual awards, however, the top two All Star teams were also chosen, with David Pastrnak being one of the members! Who else is among the NHL season’s selections?

While he came away empty-handed when it comes to the individual awards, he still had a great result. And that’s when he was selected as one of the biggest stars of the past NHL season.

Both All Star teams had five members – one goalie, two defensemen and of course three forwards. Pastrnak was part of the first team, along with his Boston teammate, goaltender Linus Ullmark.

However, Pastrňák’s nomination to the All-Star team is no surprise. The Havířov native became the Bruins’ most productive player and was also the third man in NHL regular season scoring with 113 points (61+52).

Pastrňák was also the second-leading scorer of the 2022/23 season after Connor McDavid with 153 points and 64 goals scored.

Offensively, Dallas forward Jason Robertson rounded out the duo on the No. 1 All-Star team. He was the team’s most productive player with 109 points (46+63), finishing sixth in the NHL in total points after the regular season. He added another 18 points in the playoffs.

The defenseman positions on the first All-Star team were occupied by Erik Karlsson, as a Norris Trophy winner, and Adam Fox of the New York Rangers.

The second All-Star team

McDavid’s Edmonton teammate Leon Draisaitl made the second five. The German forward registered 128 points (52+76) in the 2022/23 regular season, finishing second behind McDavid. The wing spots on the second All-Star team were filled by Matthew Tkachuk of Florida and Artemi Panarin of the New York Rangers.

Defensemen include Hampus Lindholm of Boston and Cale Makar of Colorado, while the goaltender position was filled by Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders.

Newcomers

The NHL also voted the top five in the rookie category. That’s where Stuart Skinner (goaltender, Edmonton), defensemen Owen Power (Buffalo), Jake Sanderson (Ottawa) and forwards Matty Beniers (Seattle), Wyatt Johnston (Dallas) and Matias Maccelli (Arizona) came in.
