The heavyweight division in KSW is a very attractive division for Czech combat sports fans, as it features two Czech warriors and two former Oktagon champions who fought for the title in the Czechoslovak organization. On Saturday, Viktor Pešta went into action for the first time and did very well.

Michal Martínek, Štefan Vojčák and now also Viktor Pešta. The Czechoslovak MMA scene is well represented in the KSW heavyweight division. Martínek could have been close to a title shot, only to be robbed of the win in his last fight.

In October, Martínek will have another chance to get closer to the belt. Will we see him fight another Czech for it? It’s not out of the question. Viktor Peshta, a UFC veteran and, like Martinek, a former Oktagon champion, made his debut in the organization on Saturday.

Martinek was Pešta’s second opponent in the Oktagon, and he ended the fight by breaking Pešta’s jaw. A rematch was talked about, but never happened, as the two fighters had different paths, with Peshta even dropping down to welterweight.

But now they’re in KSW, and Peshta has properly improved his appetite after two losses in a row in his debut. He faced the organization’s top five heavyweights, but Filip Stawowy didn’t stand a chance against him.

The Czech fighter dominated from the start, winning by rear-naked choke at 2:12 of the first round. It’s the first win for Peshta since he left the Oktagon in September 2021. He returned to the cage after more than a year.

The Czech fighter could have presented himself in KSW in February, but Pešta had to withdraw from the fight with Daniel Omielanczuk, who controversially defeated Martinek. However, he could not have started his stint in Poland any better.

At 33 years old, he improved his record to 19-8, and of course he has a clear goal. To fight his way to the title. With the organization offering him a fight with the top five in the division, it’s obvious that he’s definitely a force to be reckoned with in KSW.
