Great news? The American beauty will probably get in the ring one more time and box without gloves. I’m ready, says the former UFC star
Paige VanZant has made a name for herself as a talented fighter. But fighting is no longer what makes her money. She’s taken her destiny into her own hands and used her beauty to secure more than just herself. She doesn’t have to fight anymore. Still, we’ll probably see her in the ring this year.
Paige VanZant has made a name for herself as a talented fighter. But fighting is no longer what makes her money. She’s taken her destiny into her own hands and used her beauty to secure more than just herself. She doesn’t have to fight anymore. Still, we’ll probably see her in the ring this year.
Some know her from the UFC cage, others more for what she does for a living. That is, from social networks and platforms for creating exclusive content, which makes the still only 29-year-old fighter as free as possible.
Paige VanZant has had a rough road in her life, and if she didn’t want to fight anymore, she doesn’t have to. In fact, she has no reason to. That’s part of why BKFC organization owner David Feldman has been slow to give up hope of that happening.
After all, Paige was coming to the BKFC in 2021 as a giant star who was supposed to raise the organization’s profile. And it did. Today, everyone in the combat sports world seems to know about the BKFC, and VanZant was the first really big name to make an appearance.
Of course, there have been a few UFC veterans in the BKFC before, but none have had the social media reach. It’s just that VanZant lost her first two fights and we haven’t seen her in the ring in almost two years.
Feldman didn’t want to force her. Slowly, he’s been giving ultimatums, too. He had a specific date he wanted to see VanZant in the ring or he wouldn’t count her out. But in the end, he apparently changed his mind, and the fighter herself seemed to be a contributing factor.
The American posted a post on Instagram saying she was ready for another taste of boxing without gloves. She also asks fans who they would like to see her fight.
And the BKFC boss straight away in an interview offered a date when we could see the popular fighter in the ring. So he wasn’t entirely specific, but he did mention that he’d like to see Paige fight Felice Herrig, another UFC veteran, in September.
Of course, nothing is officially confirmed, but the outlines are clearly there. Additionally, Feldman tipped his hat to VanZant. “What she does outside the ring is up to her. Let her do what she wants to do. But she might never fight again because she’s making big money, but she still wants to outdo herself and you can’t disrespect that,” MMA Fighting quoted him as saying.
