Great! Muchova and Vondrousova improve their career highs

The tournament in Cincinnati was quite successful for the Czech tennis players. Both Markéta Vondroušová and Karolína Muchová will improve their positions in the WTA rankings, both of them will be among the ten best tennis players in the world.

Markéta Vondroušová shone in July with her triumph at Wimbledon. The native of Sokolov defeated Kudermetova, Pegula and Svitolina. In the final, she found a recipe for Jabeur, whom she defeated after sets 6:4 and 6:4.

Thanks to her first Grand Slam title, Vondrousova moved up to the tenth place in the WTA rankings. She improved her previous career high.

In Cincinnati, the twenty-four-year-old tennis player made it to the quarterfinals. There she lost to Swiatek after 6:7 and 1:6 sets. This will take her to ninth place with 3,401 points.
