Real Madrid played the opening rounds of the Copa del Rey at Arrandina, a team from the fourth Spanish league. It was a great experience not only for the spectators, but also for the players and everyone around the first team. For example, the young passer of the ball received an unexpected souvenir from the star Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham watched the match from the bench

Carlo Ancelotti did a lot of tinkering with the line-up in the match against Arrandina. The first team of La Liga was playing against a team that is at the tail end of the fourth highest Spanish competition.

Only Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal and Federico Valverde remained on the bench, while Vinícius did not even travel with the team. The youngsters Vinícius Tobias, Alvaro Carrillo and Nico Paz got a chance in the starting line-up. Summer signing Arda Güler finally made his debut .

The first half, however, was not exactly like a clash between two diametrically opposed teams. Yes, Real Madrid had the upper hand, but they didn’t create too many chances. It wasn’t until the start of the second half that Brahim Díaz broke things open.

In the 54th minute, he first won a penalty which was converted by Joselu, and a minute later he scored himself to make it 2-0. In the 90th minute, the Spanish all-rounder passed to Rodryga for a goal, which the home side responded to, much to the delight of the fans, by reducing it to 1: 3 when Nacho scored an unlucky own goal.

However, the biggest highlight of the match did not happen on the pitch. For Jude Bellingham, wrapped in a blanket on the bench, noticed that the home club’s young feeder was getting a bit cold and shivering.

The happiest day of his life

The Englishman immediately decided to offer the youngster his blanket and called him to the bench. The feeder signalled that he should not leave his seat, so Bellingham got up and brought the blanket to the young man and wrapped him in it. A great gesture that the Arrandina teenager will never forget.

“An unforgettable day. Bellingham gave me his blanket, but I couldn’t understand what he was saying. But it’s a beautiful gesture, it’s the happiest day of my life,” the ball-handler enthused after the game. He also took a photo with the English superstar after the match as a souvenir.
