Grealish has given his first interview since his record-breaking transfer to Manchester City. What did he say?
Jack Grealish hasn’t even settled into the Etihad Stadium yet and he’s already had to give out interviews. In them, however, he praised his teammates, which he can’t wait to see. Most notably Kevin De Bruyne, who he believes is the best in the world after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Grealish’s arrival at Manchester City broke the Premier League transfer record held until Thursday by Paul Pogba, who was brought in from Juventus by Manchester United for £93m.
The English offensive midfielder cost the Citizens £100 million, which will obviously draw a lot of attention to him. But he will not have it easy in the squad of the reigning champion of the English top league. The competition in Pep Guardiola’s team is immense!
But at the same time, working with such top players will undoubtedly take him to a whole other level. He has already outgrown Aston Villa last year and this move was inevitable. Perhaps it was the right thing to do.
“I have always said that after Ronaldo and Messi, De Bruyne is the best in the world. I think he has absolutely everything and I can’t wait to play alongside him,” Grealish said of the Belgian midfielder.
“ Everybody knows how good he is. He has the best first touch I’ve ever seen.”
And it’s no secret that they are great friends. “When we’re on the road with the England team, I spend a lot of time with him. He always makes me laugh, he’s like my little brother. I believe that if you get on with someone off the pitch, then you can pass that on to them as well.”
We have already mentioned the great competition in the Manchester City team, but Grealish is not afraid of that either! “That’s what you need. I think I’m still quite young, I’m only 25, so I can learn a lot from these people. I can’t wait to train with them.”
What about Pep Guardiola, one of the most respected coaches in the world? “I’ve heard nothing but praise for him in the English national team. And when I came here this morning, we had a long conversation about positions and other things, all about football. It was very positive and it showed me how much I want to play under him.”
For Grealish, Manchester City is a big dream, as he said himself. You can feel it in his every word, so hopefully he will carry that over onto the pitch as his game is definitely a joy to watch and Aston Villa will really miss him a lot this season!
