Granada may not last long among Spain’s elite. The newcomer to La Liga is currently in 19th place, which is mainly due to away games. Granada’s next loss came against Getafe.

Granada won promotion to the Spanish elite in the 2022/23 season. They finished second in the Spanish top flight with 75 points, three points ahead of second-placed Las Palmas.

However, Las Palmas are doing better in the top Spanish competition, with 31 points and a quiet mid-table finish in ninth place. Granada, on the other hand, will most likely face a tough rescue battle.

At the moment they are only nineteenth with 11 points, with only six-point Almería being worse off. In the current season, Granada have, for example, drawn 2-2 with Barcelona.

Granada is suffering at the away stadiums

However, the problem is that the vast majority of their points have come on home soil. In the stadiums of its opponents, it has won only one point from eleven matches, a 3-3 draw with the aforementioned Almeria.

Nothing changed even in the duel with Getafe, although coach Alexander Medina’s team had the upper hand. Getafe decided the fate of the match in the first half when Mason Greenwood and Borja Mayoral scored.

In the second half, twenty-eight-year-old Myrto Uzuni could have equalised from a penalty kick, but only hit the bar. At the moment Granada have a terrible 8:24 record on their opponents’ pitches.

If they want to stay among the Spanish elite, they urgently need to start picking up points. They are currently six points behind the first non-relegation position, where we can find Celta Vigo, which is definitely not an insoluble task yet. In the upcoming match, they will face Las Palmas at home.
