Good old Mourinho is back! Who did he blame for his team’s defeat this time?

José Mourinho has a very good record at AS Roma. Perhaps it’s better to say he has. After all, Sunday’s defeat was his second in his new job and it wouldn’t be good old Mourinho if he didn’t take it out on someone!

José Mourinho has a very good record at AS Roma. Perhaps it’s better to say he has. After all, Sunday’s defeat was his second in his new job and it wouldn’t be good old Mourinho if he didn’t take it out on someone!

The Rome derby was much more watchable than usual this time. After all, it was two excellent coaches, José Mourinho and Maurizio Sarri, facing each other on the bench.

However, it was the older coach, the Lazio coach, whose players entered the game very well, leading their city rivals 2-0 in the 19th minute thanks to goals from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Pedro.

“VAR and referees unfortunately ruined a fantastic match. After the second goal it should have been 1-1, instead we were down 2-0. In addition, Lucas Leiva should have been shown a second yellow card,” Mourinho saw Sunday’s clash differently than the referee after the game.

And it wouldn’t be Mourinho if he didn’t change his mind a bit more.

“I think my team was the best on the pitch today. We outplayed Lazio and gave them huge problems, but they controlled the end of the game the way they wanted to because the referee allowed them to,” the Portuguese coach was clear.

AS Roma, however, are doing very well under his guidance, notching up only their second defeat in 9 games. They are currently in 4th place with 12 points.

Otherwise, Mourinho is happy in Italy, because he believes that Serie A has done a tremendous job, especially in terms of attacking play. Everything has improved since he was last at Inter.

This week, Mourinho and co. will play Zorya in the Conference League and this weekend AS Roma will host Empoli at home.

However, it is certainly worth adding the fact that the clash with Lazio was AS Roma’s first game against a top team, and in October they will face Juventus, Napoli and AC Milan among others. It is at these duels that we will see what impact Mourinho has on the team.
