Goal over half court? Cherry. It’s a beautiful victory, says hero Schick. How do the other members of the team feel about the first win?

The Czech Republic defeated Scotland 2-0 at the start of the European Championship. The duo of Patrik Schick and Tomáš Vaclík in particular shone with great performances. How did the members of the national team evaluate the first group match?
Especially two players from Jaroslav Šilhavy’s selection can be considered the heroes of the first match with Scotland. Patrik Schick shone with two goals, the second one in particular was worth it as the Leverkusen striker pushed his way over from the middle of the pitch.
“I was really looking forward to this game. It cost us a lot and it’s great that we did it with zero at the back. It’s a beautiful victory. I’ve already replayed the game in my head three times. That second goal is the cherry on top.”
The other hero was undoubtedly Tomas Vaclik, who made some important saves and made his case for new signings in style.
“A great experience for everyone, including me. I’m glad it turned out like this. We knew this game was very important. We’ll be here again in four days,” the native of Ostrava did not hide his excitement about the win.
Another of the national team players, Tomáš Souček, revealed that the hardest part was that practically everything was on the line in the first game. “We wanted to play as a team, it was very evenly matched and I’m glad we did it. I’m glad Schicky scored two great goals, the second one is fabulous, amazingly hit,” the West Ham star let slip.
Even captain Vladimir Darida is aware of how important the game was. He believes that it will kick-start the whole team for the next matches and that the next match against Croatia could be the final one thanks to the win.
And what does coach Jaroslav Šilhavý have to say? “I still hear the victory chant in my head, it feels wonderful and I believe it doesn’t end with this match,” the coach did not hide his optimism.
Šilhavý would like to advance from the group, after the match he praised both Vaclik and Schick.
