The year 2021 is coming to an end and Wahbi Khazri has still been very vocal about the possibility of claiming the award for the most beautiful goal of the entire year. In fact, in Ligue 1, he took care of an exceptional and record-breaking goal.

The famous Saint-Étienne are not having a good start to the season. After 12 rounds, they are in last place with just six points and without a single win.

The club has even set a new unflattering record by not winning 14 matches in Ligue 1. The previous record was 13 matches without a win in 1988.

But Tunisian international Wahbi Khazri is shining regardless of his team’s results. He has already scored 7 league goals, and the last one in particular deserves the attention of the football world.

Saint-Étienne managed a 1-1 draw in Metis. Khazri scored from an incredible 68 metres to earn the point.

Khazri scored the longest distance goal in the history of Ligue 1. However, this statistic is counted from the 2006/07 season.

The record was previously held by David Hellebuyck, who retired in 2012.
