On Wednesday evening, the final qualifiers for the European Championship will be decided. Hungary, who have already played France and Portugal in Group F, still have a chance. How will its clash with Germany turn out?
Germany had a bad start to the tournament, losing their opening match against France 0-1. However, coach Joachim Löw’s charges subsequently defeated Portugal to move closer to qualification.
Robin Gosens, a tribal player of Atalanta, has been performing very well at the European Championship. The 26-year-old has already contributed to three goals, scoring two for his teammates and one himself.
In the first match, Hungary clashed with the Portuguese, who are defending their 2016 triumph. Although they held a draw until the 84th minute, they eventually lost 0:3. Coach Rossi’s team fared slightly better in their upcoming match, drawing 1-1 with France.
Thirty-one-year-old defender Attila Fiola scored the only goal of the tournament so far. However, Peter Gulasci, Adam Szalai and Roland Salla can also be counted among the team’s mainstays.
So what to bet on? Neither team has a promotion certainty yet, so we can expect that there will be no savings on key players. Germany remain the favourites for the match, but a one-goal loss could be enough.
In the last match, Germany’s footballers transferred that they are a force to be reckoned with. I therefore expect that they could beat the tough Hungarian team by a bigger margin. I offer a handicap of -1.5 at odds of 1.56.
