Garnacha and Antony the other scapegoats? Manchester United fans are in the clear
Alejandro Garnacho heard the criticism of Erik ten Hag in his post match interview. The Argentine was substituted at half-time. The likes of Marcus Rashford, quite objectively, did not perform any better. Brazilian Antony was reportedly out of the nomination due to injury, but the behind-the-scenes information is different.
Alejandro Garnacho heard the criticism of Erik ten Hag in his post match interview. TheArgentine was substituted at half-time. The likes of Marcus Rashford, quite objectively, did not perform any better. Brazilian Antony was reportedly out of the nomination due to injury, but the behind-the-scenes information is different.
Garnacho was responsible for both goals
As mentioned, the Dutch coach accused Garnacho of being responsible for both of his opponent’s goals. On Bournemouth’s first goal, he cheaply lost the ball in the middle, which Dominic Solanke took advantage of to send the home team into the lead. Here, the Argentine winger bears some of the blame.
Garnacho, on the other hand, was the key to Bruno Fernandes’ goal. He broke the home defence with a break down the right touchline, but he still got the ball into the penalty area, where the Red Devils captain had already dealt with it.
Blame Garnacha for Bournemouth’s second goal? Completely misguided. A close study of the whole situation shows Diogo Dalot on the touchline, away from his team’s stoppers, instead of standing by Justin Kluivert, the goal scorer.
Moreover, members of the United fan base agree that blaming the 19-year-old for the loss is too harsh. After all, he is still learning and on several occasions Garnacho was the reason for the win. Quite objectively, Rashford didn’t play much better in the game, he has looked lazy throughout the season, but he doesn’t hear criticism from the coach.
But the young winger is setting himself up for a big problem. On Twitter, he “unfollowed” tweets that criticized Haga. Another player who is playing with the coach’s patience is Amad Diallo, who posted a photo on his instastory with a smiley face with his mouth locked.
Antony was not in the nomination due to injury
The Brazilian winger has recovered slightly in recent weeks. After scoring in the FA Cup against Liverpool, he also notched a wonderful assist against Chelsea. Moreover, he started the game against the London outfit in the starting line-up. Against Liverpool, however, he was back on the bench.
However, the Brazilian was not even on the bench for the game against Bournemouth. According to the official statement, Antony was supposed to have suffered an injury in training and therefore did not travel with the team. However, behind the scenes information says otherwise.
The winger was supposed to have an argument with ten Hague in training due to his still low game load, although he has picked up his game. So is this further evidence that the Manchester Untied coach is losing the booth? Judging by the reactions of most fans on social media, it’s obvious that this Hag is trying to find more scapegoats.
