Galtier to Naples? French coach wants to leave PSG, De Laurentiis already preparing contract, according to Italian media

Current Paris Saint-Germain head coach Christophe Galtier could change his job in the summer. The French coach is currently reportedly working on a deal for his departure from Paris, with an offer already forthcoming from champions Napoli.

The well-known and trusted Italian site La Gazzetta dello Sport came out on Thursday morning with the information that Napoli are already preparing a contract for Christophe Galtier.

In fact, the French coach is currently working on an agreement with PSG for his departure, on the basis of which the Parisian club would pay him a severance payment of six million euros. However, the Marseille native certainly doesn’t have to worry about his future career.

Galtier is currently the main man on Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis’ list of potential coaches.

The current Partenopei coach Luciano Spalletti has decided to take a one-year break from football or coaching after winning the Scudetto.

As reported by the aforementioned Italian daily, De Laurentiis has prepared a two-year contract for Galtier with an option for a third year worth approximately €4 million net per season.

It should be noted, if this alternative of engaging Galtier does not work out, the Napoli president sees Rudi Garcia as another potential target. The latter was most recently coaching Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, which he left in April this year.

Galtier joined Paris Saint-Germain at the beginning of July last year. So for now, he has one season under his belt at the Parisian big club, with his current contract running until the end of June 2024.

And his record? Winning the French Super Cup and the championship title, coaching 50 competitive matches with his team in which he won thirty-four times, drew six times and recorded ten losses.

In total, across all competitions (Ligue 1, Champions League, Coupe De France and French Super Cup), he amassed 108 points with PSG.
