Gabriel Jesus: I don’t want to be like Thierry Henry, I want to go my own way and win everything with Arsenal!

Mikel Arteta and Gabriel Jesus together again in one team. Arsenal fans are really curious about this combination. And the Brazilian striker’s very first words suggest that he is not coming to London with a small goal, as he has spread the word that he is coming to win everything possible.

Arsenal had to pay Manchester City more than 52 million euros for the 25-year-old striker, making the Citizens value their investment by 20 million in less than 5 years. So it can definitely be said that it was a good deal for both teams.

The Gunners got the goal-scoring striker they so desperately needed, which is confirmed by Jesus’ stats in the light blue jersey – 233 games, 95 goals and 46 assists. If he started under Pep Guardiola as a top striker, he scored 83 goals in 188 games.

“There are really good players here, a lot of young talents, like me, I’m still young. We are like one big family and that’s what I want! I’m very happy here and it was great to see everybody when I joined the club on the first day,” Jesus started the interview with Goal.

“First of all, I have to adapt. Adapt to the club, the players and the style of play. After that, everything will come by itself. That’s football, it’s the same as anywhere else. But at the end of the season I want to win something. Win trophies like everyone else here at Arsenal. That is the only way to make an indelible mark on the history of this great club,” Jesus has clear plans.

What would he do to win over the crowd? A Premier League victory, which Arsenal have been waiting for since the 2003/04 season. Back then, England was ruled by Thierry Henry and others who went through the entire season without a single defeat.

“When you say Arsenal, you mean Thierry Henry. Thierry was unique, he was one of the best players in history. But I don’t want to be the new Henry. I want to put my name in the club’s history. But I want to win trophies, win everything!” The Brazilian striker has no small goals.

He will be supported in attack by his compatriots, 21-year-old talent Gabriel Martinelli and newcomer 19-year-old Marquinhos. Arsenal have many other great talents in world football and this team will be very interesting to watch, because last season coach Arteta’s charges did not do badly at all!
