Gábor Boráros and the UFC? His coach spoke about his chances and his specific training regimen
Gábor Boráros was in the cage again a week ago after more than a year. He had an important match to win. After three defeats in a row, he could breathe a sigh of relief. But once again, his attitude is being addressed. Now one of his coaches has spoken out about him and Borah’s chances of making it to the UFC.
He may not be one of the best fighters in the Octagon, but his name is certainly one of the most resonant. When Gábor Boráros is supposed to fight, people talk about it, people write about it, people care about it. Some people are rooting for him, others are rooting for him.
But the fact is that Boráros was undoubtedly one of the great talents of our scene. The Octagon sees him as the first star of the whole organization. And rightfully so. However, the Slovak fighter has not fulfilled his potential.
His current record is 19-10-1. His career has been hampered by injuries, lacerations, and actually his attitude, which is very specific and takes a long time to resolve. And that he was working extremely hard before his last game, which was a pivotal game in terms of his career? Not exactly.
There was a lot of talk about him only being at practice twice. Even Végh himself, who is only one of his coaches, didn’t trust him in the fight in Attila Végh’s new organization. The other one is Ilja Škondrič, who now spoke about Gabor in an interview for Sport.sk.
“I trusted him. He was focused and disciplined. It was jokingly said that he was only in training twice before the game. But Gábor has never been to training more than a couple of times in his life. If he comes six times, he’s halfway done. Now he’s been eight times, so I don’t doubt him. He gave a nice tactical performance,” Škondrič admitted.
Boráros and the UFC?
As mentioned, Gábor Boráros was one of the great talents. However, more than MMA, he was into crossfit. This is also evident in his physique. He was also plagued by health problems.
Now, according to Škondrić, he’s a bit more into stand-up and wrestling, while he’s cut back on the weights. Considering that Škondrič has worked with a lot of people, he is more than competent to judge a fighter.
Boráros would supposedly become a perfect wrestler, boxer or MMA fighter within a month of training wrestling, boxing or MMA. It just hasn’t happened so far that the Slovakian fighter has trained MMA for a month.
There was even a question about the UFC. Previously, Škondrič said he believed Boráros could get in, but now he doubts it. “He’s not 18 years old anymore. He’s missed out on certain things. But I think he will still show some nice fights on the domestic scene,” he is clear.
