Francis Ngannou took a dig at the new UFC heavyweight king. Jon Jones’ response was not long in coming!

Francis Ngannou reacted to Sunday’s dominant return of new UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. He responded in kind.

The king is back. Jon Jones returned in style after returning from a three-year fight fast. He had been out for a long time, and when he announced his move to heavyweight, there were dubious reactions from many pundits.

Moreover, when Jones stepped into a title fight with the number one heavyweight Ciryl Gano right away at UFC 285, there was still some concern despite his stellar career. However, Jones made the bout a one-sided affair, forcing his opponent to tap out after just two minutes.

Many well-known figures from the world of combat sports reacted to the precise performance from the living legend, and one of them was former champion Francis Ngannou. The latter was supposed to be Jones’ original opponent, but at the turn of the year, he failed to come to terms with UFC management on a new contract and left the organization through the back door.

The latter was recently shut down for good by UFC owner Dana White, who stated that we won’t see Francis in the organization anymore. Still, there is some tension between the two, which fully resonated after the aforementioned UFC 285 tournament.

After Jones’ victory, Ngannou posted a post on his Twitter in which he congratulated his opponent, but did not forgive himself for a provocative remark. “Well done boy, with regards to the king of heavyweight.”

The response didn’t wait long when reporters at the UFC press conference read Jones the aforementioned tweet from Francis. “Francis is a big old b**d,” the newly crowned champion responded with a sharp, yet smiling, response.

A potential fight between the two fighters would definitely be the biggest event in UFC heavyweight history. The duel now takes on an even spicier flavor. Will Dana White change his mind under fan pressure?
